StatSheet's Big Sky Player of the Week for January 14th goes to Montana's Kareem Jamar. Venky Jois from Eastern Washington has won StatSheet Big Sky Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Michael Weisner from Montana takes home StatSheet's Big Sky 6th Man of the Week. Jamar put up great stats in rebounding (5 per game), shooting (70%), and scoring (18.5 pts per game). The Montana junior played well in wins against North Dakota and Northern Colorado.

Jamar contributed 11 points and 7 rebounds in 34 minutes in a 77-62 win over North Dakota. In the next game he led all scoring with 26 points and added 6 assists in an 85-77 victory against Northern Colorado.

This is the first time that Kareem Jamar has been named the StatSheet Big Sky Player of the Week. However, he has received an honorable mention. The runner-up this week is Montana senior Will Cherry. Honorable mention goes to Mathias Ward, a senior from Montana. The highest ranking player from Montana State was Christian Moon who finished 13th.

StatSheet Big Sky Freshman of the Week: Eastern Washington's Venky Jois

Venky Jois played an average of 34 minutes as a starter for Eastern Washington. His average in blocked shots (5.0 per game) led all Big Sky freshmen. In an 82-59 waxing of Northern Arizona, Jois topped the Eagles in rebounding with 14 and tossed in 4 blocked shots. Following that in a 60-53 loss to Sacramento State, he led rebounding with 7 and added 6 blocked shots.

This is the second StatSheet Big Sky Freshman of the Week honor for Venky Jois. The runner-up is Joel Bolomboy from Weber State. Honorable mention goes to Thomas Reuter from Eastern Washington.

StatSheet Big Sky 6th Man of the Week: Montana's Michael Weisner

Michael Weisner, a sophomore and a 6-7 forward, played an average of 25 minutes over the two games for the Grizzlies. In the win against North Dakota, Weisner put up 5 points and 6 rebounds. After that, in the win against Northern Colorado, he led all rebounding with 6 and added 66% shooting.

This is Michael Weisner's first StatSheet Big Sky 6th Man of the Week award this season. Our own Calen Coleman is runner up. Gelaun Wheelwright, a sophomore guard from Weber State, earns honorable mention. Montana State players have not yet been named StatSheet Big Sky Player of the Week this season.
